The Kidney Foundation Alternative

Corporate Governance Codes in some companies prohibit employees from accepting business gratuities of any kind. In other companies, gifts or incentives are not banned, but are only allowed if the value of the gratuity is modest, usually $25 or less.

In the event that a survey respondent works for a company whose corporate governance policies would not let them accept CBI’s Montblanc Pen or Digital Camera incentive, CB Intelligence will make an equivalent cash donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

CBI selected the Kidney Foundation for two reasons. First, we believe that this is an eminently worthwhile charity. Today, over 30,000 Canadians suffer from kidney failure and require dialysis or a transplant to stay alive. Many more have related conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, which are the leading causes of kidney failure. Second, we’re involved. CBI’s Harry Feldman chairs the Foundation’s Founder’s Committee.
