Money Market Investment Programs

In retail banking, ING Direct has built a strong brand identity with its Save Your Money advertising campaigns. Capital One is following a similar strategy with its Hands in Your Pocket credit card spots. Both exploit the widespread belief that banks disadvantage their customers with low yield savings accounts and costly fee structures.

For businesses, there’s a parallel state of affairs in money market investment programs. To address this need CBI offers two services through its InterestEscalator program:

Laurentian Bank Money Market Account

For investments less than $1 million, InterestEscalator offers a high yield money market account through the Laurentian Bank. The account requires a minimum deposit of $100,000:

1. Canadian deposits earn prime less 2%.
2. U.S. deposits earn U.S. base rate less 4.0%.
3. Clients have access to account funds daily
4. Interest is calculated daily and credited monthly.
5. The account has no services fees.

Laurentian is a Canadian Schedule A Bank.

UBS Money Market Investment Fund

For investments greater than $1 million, InterestEscalator offers secure money market investments through UBS’ Global Asset Management Fund. A minimum investment of $1 million is required:

1. UBS money market funds have a 15 year track record of outperforming Scotia Capital T-Bill indices.
2. Clients have same day access to their money prior to 11:00 am daily.
3. Interest is calculated daily and credited monthly.
